GURGAON: Huda is exploring possibilities of allotting alternative plots to those displaced by the construction of Dwarka Expressway, in Sector 37C and other developed pockets under the urban body, though development of Sector 110A is being delayed over land acquisition.
Around 400 residents of New Palam Vihar, whose houses are coming in the way of Dwarka Expressway, also known as Northern Peripheral Road (NPR), were supposed to be rehabilitated in Sector 110A. But development of the sector faces land acquisition hurdles. To accommodate oustees in case the sector can’t be developed, Huda is considering allotting alternative plots in Sector 37C and other areas.
However, oustees insist they be given plots in Sector 110A. “We’re trying to expedite NPR work, while also considering alternative plots in other developed pockets for the displaced,” said administrator Yashpal Yadav, adding Huda will discuss proposals with oustees.
After the meeting to review ongoing development works, Yadav said focus is on to push infrastructure development in the city. “Acquisition of land for services like roads, sewerage and water supply in new sectors 58-65 is our top priority. Land acquisition for CPR another priority,” said Yadav.
Yadav admitted that on flood management, there is little time now left for projects planned, so they’re working on alternatives. “We’re looking for short-term land acquisition to dig an artificial lake in Sector 72A. Huda will also request the forest department to build a check dam in their area. De-silting of nullahs will also start soon, which should help handle waterlogging during monsoons,” said Yadav.
The administrator has also formed a committee to frame allotment guidelines, to resolve the evolving house allotment controversy. “We’re trying to put a system in place for house allotments,” said Yadav. He added notices will be send to all illegal occupants of Huda staff quarters in the next few days.
