Agra’s Smart City round two proposal tabled in municipal house

The revised proposal, named ‘Mera Agra – Smart Agra’, was tabled in the 26th session meeting of the municipal house.

AGRA: Retrofitting (development of area without changing existing structures) of over 2,200 acres of area, 100% water supply coverage, overhauling of traffic junction, are but some of the initiatives that have been mentioned in the proposal for round two of Smart City project.

The revised proposal, named ‘Mera Agra – Smart Agra’, was tabled in the 26th session meeting of the municipal house on Thursday. Municipal commissioner Indra Vikram Singh, who tabled the bid, said, “The proposal focuses on preserving history; developing world-class infrastructure, a tourist-friendly city; pristine environment; and, plenty of job opportunities in the city.” The city failed to make the cut in round one of the Smart City project, where 20 cities were shortlisted by the Centre.
