Haryana CM to meet Gurgaon flat buyers tomorrow

Officials told TOI on Tuesday that some 16 issues are likely to be taken up by the CM in the meeting.

GURGAON: Chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar will hold a meeting of the district grievance committee in Gurgaon on July 7 to lend an ear to residents, most of whom are homebuyers distressed over the delay in possession of flats even after paying most of their dues to developers. He had also presided over a grievance meet in Gurgaon last month.

Officials told TOI on Tuesday that some 16 issues are likely to be taken up by the CM in the meeting, including complaints related to delay in housing projects and irregularities in real estate projects.

One of such complaints is that of Captain SS Panesar, who has alleged the Indian Airlines Pilots Cooperative House Building Society Ltd had purchased 47.5 acres of land in Sukhrali village between 1983 and 1985 and entered into a contract with M/s Essel Housing Projects Pvt Ltd for construction of flats for the members on the society land.

According to him, the builder was to provide 245 flats to the society members and the remaining were to be sold by him to the public. But the builder has been selling flats to the public and getting them registered in the buyers’ names without paying stamp duty to the government.

In another complaint, Rama Chawla, president of Emerald Hills Owners Welfare Association, has said the project was launched in 2009 with a promise that apartments would be delivered within three years. Emaar MGF, the developer, has failed to keep its commitments till date, despite collecting more than 80% of the cost of apartments.
